Welcome back folks and what a big week it was for us not just locally but globally too. First up, let’s get to the local events.
Melbourne Meetup
We had our Melbourne meetup last week too over at the ANNG Gallery in CloudTech Groups offices. We had some great speakers and guests and some shots of it here

Bitcoin Pizza Day
We got to have our Australian DeFi Association be part of hosting 2x Bitcoin Pizza Day events in both Brisbane and Sydney. So great to see the community come together to celebrate one of the first (and perhaps most well-known) transactions with the technology. In Sydney, it was a takeover of a pizza joint (D.O.C in Surry Hills) along with Binance Australia and Take3. Check out some of the shots here

Global News
The Ethereum ETF got approved after getting support early in the week and Bankless cover it here. Now this is part of the listing process, there’s still a process to get through to get ETFs we can invest in but this is a very positive start.

What was interesting was the hate the Bloomberg journalists (who made themselves famous in crypto circles) were getting on this announcement after they downgraded as negative news was coming out mid to late last year. Eric Balchunas (one of those journalists) explained it here

About Aus DeFi Association
The Australian DeFi Association (Aus DeFi) is a non-profit community organisation dedicated to increasing education and awareness of blockchain technology, specifically decentralised finance (DeFi) and web3-based projects. Their goal is to empower the Australian community with the knowledge and tools to participate in the decentralised economy, and to promote the adoption and growth of blockchain technology in Australia. They strive to provide a more grassroots approach to promoting blockchain technology compared to other industry-focused organisations in Australia, and to provide a platform for community members to learn about and engage with this emerging technology.
